This is a little disappointing. They're obviously playing in the modal style which characterized Trane's later work, but they don't really have the intensity. Bowed instruments are similar to horns in that the bow is like the breath. Yet, they don't really take advantage of that. They play it too tamely.

TISQ is the best all-string jazz group i know. i like this peice, and all of their works. but i especially love skylife, julie-o, la dance so people who are intrested in this quartet should have a listen to it.

If it sounds good , it is good.
I play by ear on a violin on most music. But at the same time i notice this group had a basic theme going through the piece , is that true in most jazz music
I have to agree with other comments in being boring, maybe just a change in the approach. The group plays very well.
