The Delta blues, perhaps some of the greatest, most influential music ever written, and it's finally on its way out. Honeyboy Edwards is the only one left. Son House, Willie Brown, Robert Johnson, they're all dead. It's a damn shame.

Yep, it is almost all gone now. It indicates the end of the world I imagine. That may sound a bit dramatic, but I just feel that sentiment inside of me. Not to mention the many other indicators we have around us now a days. Music is culture. It has just about vanished off of the face of this earth. From what I have noticed, this happened almost overnight around 1994. We are like Rome right before it self destructed is my best guess. I hate thinking this way, it scares the shit out of me.

Man Son House is just amazing...look at the way he plays that guitar. And the words to this song are amazing!!! "Got a letter this morning said...the gal you love is dead" Nothing says blues...nothing says rock more than those lines. Son House is imitated but never duplicated!!!

But its folks like you, who are willing to keep it alive. Mommas tell your daughters, papas tell your sons. There is a cure for these bad feelings you got. put your feet up and play the blues. Sure it wont be the same feelins as popping on that scratchy charlie patton record, but these goofey arse youtubes are doin an ok job at sparking some of that blue in today's world.

It hadn't escaped me that I was talking about SEE-ing music (one normally says HEAR, no?) I first encountered this MASTERPIECE on video. I suppose it would have struck me, if I heard it on the radio but SEEING Sun House - Wow! What a performance. What can one say, without sounding unbelievable but I have never seen a performance like that before. Never. And I've seen some good ones. This is on another plane.

son house was one of the guys inspired me to form a blues band, to make sure that people don't forget how great the blues is, I am into many differrent types and genres of music, but I just keep comin' back to it!
