Can we leave politics aside and just discuss a fuckin' movie?
One of the greatest endings in movie history. I still get chills every time I watch it. This ending wasn't in the original novel, but after seeing the film itself, writer Boulle would later go on to say that he wished he had thought of Serling's ending. Can't get much better than this. Amazing film; this will definitely be watched over and over again until that fateful day when society really does come to an end.

Still one of my favorite movie endings of all time. Even when I saw it for the first time I kinda figured they were on earth before this confirmed it...but the scene is awesome anyways. It's a shame the remake was such a bag of shit compared to the original...with modern day effects it could have been epic. Post apocalyptic movies FTW!!!

They are on Earth in about the year 3500, and probably around the New York area if land has not drifted too far. Nuclear war destroyed civilization, then the apes took over.

I love this movie but the message was sad. I think this was the movie where I fell in love with Chuck Heston. I would think his other movies; but he was hot in this movie; I wished I was Nova :)
