"View our president's like gods"?!umm..Dumbass. The immigration issue is of critical concern in a Universal Healthcare Plan; this is in no way comparable to Canada. We have as many illegal immigrants here as many European nations have citizens. No one is addressing this. The other disturbing element of H.R.676 is sec.104 "private sector cannot duplicate coverage". This not only gives government control of basic healthcare, but gives them a monopoly. More later...if you're good.

I agree with ml062007. Until Americans start holding their Federal Gov't more accountable...you are just wasting your money. It works well in Canada because we have such a smaller Gov't and population. We also hold our Gov't more accountable for it's actions I find. I sense there is a feeling of great hopelessness in American these days when it comes to their Gov't.
It's all about priorities. The U.S. Gov't's priority is on it's military whereas in Canada its on healthcare, jobs, & education.

The only reason insurance exists is so the rich get richer and profit off the poor, including politicians. THIS NEEDS TO STOP! Who are CEO's to play god and determine who lives and who doesn't. This country is better than that. Our generation, (20 - 30 yr olds) need to stand up against all this bullshit and redeem ourselves for being put to an unnecessary war. Private health insurance is a private tyranny that only exists in United States. It's a rather barbaric system that tells you you're health is only worth what you can afford.
People in United States should get behind, and support, HR 676. If you don't know what it is learn about it! GM & Ford are going bankrupt because of the rising cost of health care. If United States had single-payer system, the companies wouldn't have to worry about it.

Taxpayer funded health care not free health care. That makes sense but it makes more sense if someday we don't need taxpayer health care and all Americans can afford their own health care. A means to an end is all government can do for health care but like welfare has it helped or kept enslaved to the constant ideal of welfare.
