Elves can live forever unless they encounter a wound from a battle, or a sickness, and lack of necessities of survival (like food). But like any form of life, the longer you live, the harder it is to maintain balance. But this is just common sense. You can see this in Turtles (since they can live to about 150 years or so)

I love these movies, I'm so glad they're making 2 more, then I'll have to watch all 5 in one day! It took me 12 hours to watch all 3 extended versions in one day, imagine how long it would take with 5... Oh man I can't wait lol.

Yes they are making two more. Guillermo Del Toro and Peter Jackson are working on two movies based on Tolkien's "The Hobbit". Bilbo Baggins, Gollum, Gandalf, Saruman, and perhaps even Galadriel and Elrond will feature in the story. The first movie comes out in 2011.
