Elisabeth is a German-language musical. This is a version made by Takarazuka Revue, an all-female theater.
This means women play both the male (they call it otokoyaku) and female roles (musumeyaku). The top star actress is aways an otokoyaku.

I've see in Takeuchi Naoko's Materials Collection that Haruka plays a male role in Takarazuka Revue. So the idea that this theater school influenced several mangas and animes creation is acceptable. Utena was influenced by Takarazuka too.

I was think about it too. Nao and Hikari would be great otokoyaku.
I love Zunko and I love Jose and Carmem. but I only have hoshigumi version from Elisabeth.

I enjoy her voice. It just takes some getting used to. I think it's just that she's so masculinely voiced and since we know it's a woman it's weird.

I agree if you see her singing Saigo no Dansu in the middle of musical, you can note how her voice is beautiful. But that one in this video is not her best voice.

say....so i've seen the hanagumi, soragumi, tsukigumi and hoshigumi otokoyaku ballet, so that leaves out both the new and old yukigumi productions...now off to look for em!
