we dont see hong kong and china as a unity, because hong kong is different enough and qualitified (either geographically, culturally or economically) to be an entity.

my skyline ranking as: HK,NY,Chicago,Tokyo,singapore
and my favorite cities are:
HK, singapore, NY, london , paris/tokyo
i put HK and singapore b4 NY & london becuz
HK and singapore are city states which can be seen as an independency (either geographically,culturally or economically)
while NY & london are only part(or mosaic) of its whole country. (if u look at the map, then u knows)

True and I agree with you my friend. I respect honest Chinese as yourself who admit China and Hong Kong are different entities. I have been to both and I found Hong Kong far more traditional and liberal than the rest of China.
I have fallen in love with Hong Kong, but cannot say that for the rest of China. I am also afraid that Hong Kong will be changed to fit in with the rest of China. I have seen slow changes, cultural and ideological which are not traditional Honky. Such as nationalism.

yeah, im hker, actually im a mainland immigrator. but spending 10 yrs in hk, i find hk much more lovely and charitable than china, i find a more familiar feeling in hk.

Hmmm have to agree. I have travelled to both countries and though they are both Chinese, HK ppl behave differently. I find it is an intermediate were east meets west. My guess is during English rule HK was exposed to western influences whilst China had its iron curtain. I hope HK doesnt lose its identity.
