3.After 1991, this car has been banned from entering Le Mans 24 hours race because FIA(Federation Internationalr de l'Automobile) outlawed the use of Wankel-type rotary engines in the racing series due to "unfair weight advantages"

I dont get it, the FIA ban 787B for unfair weight advantage. But its ok for Audi to run much more torque than the competition, they claim they put out the same HP. Yet an engines true power lies in its torque figure.

I was a mazda master tech, and worked for them for 5 years. When going to traning class. The instructor had a poster of the 26B geting dissassembled after the race on a work bench somewhere in japan im guessing. He said the engine had virtually no wear what so ever on the parts, while im sure alot of engine manufacturers were studying parts with lots of wear and failures. I didn't think much of the rotary as a passenger car engine in the North east, but they make good race engines!
