just because they were one of the first to do electronic music doesn't mean they sound current. The techniques and ideas that krautrock bands presented are still used to this day. Bands the world over cite Can and Kraftwerk as an influence. Silver apples just sound like 60s psych folk music with junky electronic sounds. And if you call that current, than you haven't been listening to modern music at all.

Yeah they are current, but in a retro kind of way. Nowadays, bands are playing the folk/garage rock that bands like the birds and the kingsmen were putting out. But in reality, they didn't do anything that spectacular other than second rate drones from beat up equipment. If they were so great, then how come nobody cares about them or cites/cited them as an influence

Ethax, you probably have heard only 30 second snippets of Can and Kraftwerk. Band after band after band, cite these two as an influence, you're probably one of those people who think it's cool because it was made in 1968.

Your probably are too ignorant to know that a lot of today's music samples Kraftwerk and you don't even know.
