Mm, I sort of disagree. I didn't comment on the nature of Bauhaus, I just think this song in particular is 'meh'. And lets not forget Skinny Puppy and their industrial movement during the early 80's, Bauhaus didn't one-man the subculture. And you're comment was kind of late...

As in, why is this so popular among the goth scene.
Its because its so obviously Gothic.
Most other bands have a TON of arguing over the genre and such. But this is a song that would be pretty damn hard to claim not to be Gothic.
Or maybe i'm wrong.

Classic to say it was written in 1978....can you believe how Big this band had come from London...The Music controlled press at the time would have gone over the top...but hay they were just from little old Northampton...and were pidgeon holed as Bowie Copyists...how wrong were the media...mind you you don't expect them to own up to it do you...don't be foolish !!
