With summer just around the corner, hong kong based WowWee have developed the worlds first radio-controlled flying insect. The Mecha Tombo, released in Japan by CCP, a subsiduary of the Bandai Namco Group, is an ultra-light, dual-wing, crash-resistant dragonfly. Using an ornithopter design with a carbon fibre frame, it sounds like a real insect. Each 20 minute charge gives approximately 7 minutes of flying time and it can be flown both inside and outside with a contact range of 50 feet.

I just got one of these and I have to say it is really amazing. You can get it quite high in the air if you're good at keeping control of the dragonfly. It has got to be on the of the most unique radio-controlled flying object I've seen.
