Tommy, our Red-eared Slider

Uploaded by: SkaterTurtleGirl
Video Description:
The beginning shows Tommy as a wee baby. Then it shows him as he grows.
The second footage is of Tommy greeting us in his temporary tank, while we clean the main tank.
Tommy eats a variety of pellets and veggies. He lives with other RESs, Soldier, Sky, and Flea. They are living happily in a large tank :)
Red-eared sliders require at least ten gallons of water per inch of its shell, and a basking area with a UVB light above it. If you are thinking of getting a turtle, consider adopting one, as there are so many homeless turtles out there.
Many thanks to redearslider.com and its forum members for helping me care for Tommy and my other red-eared sliders. :)

I have 2 small about 4 inch red eared sliders in my pond right now but with it getting near winter do you think a 10 gallon tank will be big enough for them and i also have a 2 vary large plecos about a foot in length in the pond to so if i was to invest in a 55 gallon tank and put all four of them will they get along
A ten gallon tank ... ( 1 month ago by SkaterTurtleGirl)
A ten gallon tank is way too small. Investing in a 75 gallon is probably a better deal, although the 55 would work for a while.
As for the plecos, the turtles might eat them or they might get along. You never know with turtles.I've also heard about plecos sucking out turtle's eyes while they sleep, so I'd be wary, but it's your decision.
Good luck! :)
