definitely better than the original. much calmer,much clearer, more intruiging and haunting, and purer in a way. this version's got the magic that the original lacks. a magic that surrounds most of cave's songs. he's an awfully underestimated, spendid singer - musician - and storyteller!

More organised and coherent than the original, and what a gorgeous piano arrangement. This is a magical, enchanting song, and one of his very best. At 16 I thought he was the best, at 31 I see no reason to revise that judgement.
