(VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED)A video showing the last moments of a Polish immigrant, who died after Canadian police shot him with a stun gun at Vancouver International Airport, has been made public. Robert Dziekanski, 40, was traveling to join his mother, who lives in British Columbia, when he ended up spending about 10 hours in the airport's arrivals area, The Canadian Press said. The video shows Dziekanski, who had never flown before, becoming agitated. It then shows Mounties purportedly shocking Robert Dziekanski with a Taser device after confronting him. Dziekanski did not speak English.

Has the medical examiner been able to prove that the Taser caused his death? Lots of people have heart attacks after getting irate over trivial things. This man was sweating profusely, was overweight and very excited. One of the officers had his full weight on the guys throat. I doubt a battery operated Taser alone caused his death. It was more than likely a combination of factors and extreme physical exertion caused by his irate behavior.

the question is; should he have been tasered? the answer is a resounding NO. i'm sure the militarized police training taught the mounties otherwise, just as it has done in many other countries, but it is NOT RIGHT. being tasered TWICE is excessive force. a taser shock puts a person on the ground with almost no problem at all. tasering him after he hits the ground is disgusting. they should have hit the kill switch after the first few seconds. look up how tasers actually work.

I agree with you. I believe the officers should have talked to this guy longer. He was obviously scared and disoriented and yes I know how Tasers work because my wife and I both own one as a safer alternative to a firearm. We live in a city with lots of crime and I being a violent crime survivor know how brutal people can be. I myself would not have used the Taser so quickly if at all and I would have talked to the guy. However if you take Tasers away from the cops there will be more shootings.

an interesting thing to bring up: civilians cannot buy tasers as powerful as the ones law enforcement is given. and even more DEADLY ones (yes, tasers are deadly) are being manufactured. they really are taking all their cues from 1984 it seems. look out the window and you just might see a concentration camp being built or one of the homeland security murder vans.
take the cops away and things start looking more appealing, if you ask me. but that requires effort on the part of the general pop.

He is throwing furniture, obviously agitated, and the officers cant communcate with him. No way to know what is going on in this mans head. It is absolutely awful that he died. I can only imagine how frightened he was - 10 hours in a foreign country...
But from the persepctive of someone who would have to approach this man in this state. The taser appears to have been a correct option here.

so you wanna pick up for that RCMP .I have been watching there crimes through out the years.we have to start putting these cops away"behide bars". I started to notice there crimes when A RCMP officer was involved in terrorism in alberta ,they detsoryed a sour gas well ! and then in saskatoon,sask ,rcmp drove a teenager out to city skirts ! he froze to death !in BC they shot and killed a guy in cells. There has never ever been a death where the cod or cause of death was reported tasering the ohms law would also suggest it is not possible to doe from a tasering high voltage by itself is not lethal how ever the amperage that high voltage always carries with it is lethal. howere in taser devices the amperage has been reduced to nearly zero wich is far below anything concidered lethal by top minds of the world. and im guessing your not one of them.

I have been in the airport becuz of difficulties (mainly personnel errors), and it took 2 hours to solve, and I can tell you I was very exhausted, and torturous. I can't imagine 10 hrs, and how frusturating that no one can understand you!
