Quine fucked the song up? Hardly. His playing on this song definitely falls into the "face-melting" category. :) He was a hugely underrated guitarist and nobody else could play like that. Awesome stuff.

Damn. Robert Quine's playing on "Girlfriend" (the whole album) just blows me away. I love the angular, unpredictable nature of it. Just when you think you've heard every guitar solor imaginable and you think you know exactly where this one is gonna go -- WHOA, I didn't expect THAT note or THAT rhythm! Just freakin' cool.
