Alcor Foundation ( Cryonics ) Part.1 ( Ted WILLIAMS )

Uploaded by: kebekdisk
Video Description:
Ted WILLIAMS was a great champion and a winner. He was impassioned in his life.He was preserved like his son in the hope to return one day to the life. A big challenge, but it is better than to be buried or cremated.It was a pionner on his choices !
Also,we believe that intelligence, memories & personality are determined primarily by the structure & chemistry of the human brain.Our aim is to preserve the brain so faithfully that its unique identity will also be preserved,so that future science may be able to revive the individual.We realize that this is highly speculative, but we feel that human life is sufficiently precious to justify our attempt,even thought the outcome is unknown.
Discover how leading-edge science at the Alcor Life Extension Foundation is getting closer to making the dream of a vastly extended lifespan come true and how our notion of "death" is shifting. This video included interviews with world-renowned scientists including Dr.Aubrey de Grey, Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge, explaining how life can be cryopreserved on the verge of death and then revitalized, giving us a second chance at a long and productive life, and Dr. Ralph Merkle, Distinguished Professor of Computing at Georgia Tech, exploring how molecular-sized machines will be able to repair damage to your body from aging or the devastating effects of cancer and other illnesses, including frostbite.

Sick! Don't people know that we get a more better life in Heaven!?

A more better life? nospikkadeinglish?
Never mind, you won't need it in heaven. Everyone there will be on your intellectual level.
Freezing, at this ... ( 4 weeks ago by DrawingYou)
Freezing, at this time, destroys cells. Genetic Research is where I would put my money. When we can cure cancer we will know enough to extend life indefinitely.
You will have no ... ( 3 weeks ago by NathanBlades)
You will have no soul in that body when you revive it ;)
DrawingYou: Wrong ... ( 3 weeks ago by onlythetruth1)
DrawingYou: Wrong comment,cells are protected by vitrification.Before leaving a comment,take a look on alcor web site for not looking stupid.

Onlythetruth1:
I stand by my claim of putting more credibility into genetics (including anti freezing). Also your snarky remark doesn't make your claims true (gullibility does not a heaven make.)
Christians talk a ... ( 3 weeks ago by advancedatheist)
Christians talk a lot about the depravity and wickedness of the soul. What if coming back to life without a soul makes you a better person?
so many of these ... ( 2 weeks ago by Defender78)
so many of these Alcor clients are already in their 70s and 80s when they succumb to cancer, etc. If revived in say, 60 years, who are they gonna live with? And for how many more years? OMG the guy at 2:34 has a butt-neck! And who is caring for all the people frozen in the 1960s and 1970s? Who will maintain the facilities in 30 yrs? I dont get it!
Nathan gave a wink, ... ( 2 weeks ago by enoonsti)
Nathan gave a wink, so he could have just been sarcastic. But for those who really think that, answer this: when someone is revived in a hospital, does that person still have a soul? How long does the soul need to escape? 10 minutes of "death"? 1 hour? 1 day? 100 years?
@DrawingYou: Being ... ( 2 weeks ago by enoonsti)
@DrawingYou: Being snarky doesn't invalidate the claim either. For example, in 2005, Twenty-First Century Medicine vitrified a rabbit kidney to -135°C. Then it was rewarmed and successfully transplanted into a rabbit. Anyways, I have two questions for you: (1.) How does putting money into genetic research help the folks who are dying TODAY? (2.) What makes you think when we cure cancer we will have the knowledge to extend life indefinitely?
@abluishrose: " ... ( 2 weeks ago by enoonsti)
@abluishrose: "Highly impossible"? Whoa. I've heard of plain old "impossible".... but I never knew there were degrees of impossibility... ;). Sarcasm aside, I recommend that you do some research into current practices of cryonics and and research in nanotechnology before making such claims. For example, if you're capable of visiting YouTube, then check out Alcor's website.
Not being sarcastic ... ( 6 days ago by NathanBlades)
Not being sarcastic at all the soul leaves immediately on death and moves on. What we must eventualy learn is change is good why fight it? The fun is in moving on not staying still. Life flows and is not stagnant. IMHO
But does Zack ... ( 5 days ago by enoonsti)
But does Zack Dunlap - Google him - have a soul? He was declared "dead" (brain dead) for more than six hours last year, and yet he is alive today. Be careful how you answer that question, because remember: Cryonicists (which includes many PhDs) claim their patients are NOT dead...... therefore, the soul would just be "chilling out" for a while... ;)
