Well , i've been told to NEVER remove all the strings at the same time only for a string change . I guess that guy didnt knew that , and is gotta let youngsters fuck their neck up .
I mean , check the diffrence in the neck's bow when you remove all the strings , itss too much stress for absolutely nothing . Best to change one at a time y'all .

when you buy strings, they all come in a pack together, the gauge should be printed on the outside. if you go to a store and ask, they should help you. or check out what kind of strings came on the guitar originally.

thats is your way of doing it and its wrong .
not a god example for beginers .
but i have to seriosly advise everyone thats cutting the string before the guitar is tuned is in all ways wrong ...
and many times the string snaps when you are triying to make it lose all the elastecity ... and if its cut you may never put that string again ...
