Clouds over the house? Clearwire is cellular, not Satellite, first of all. I don't know where you're living, but there are plenty of cloudy days in the winter here in my part of the world and it does not slow my Clearwire down a bit. The speed is very close to what they claim and my actual upload speed is twice what Clearwire promises. I'm glad you could debate me all "date" but obviously what you get from Clearwire depends a lot on where you live and what kind of coverage you have there.

I'm not trying to be a smartass... And if you're in the Modesto area, you're not in a shitty coverage zone. Maybe I am just lucky because I have a second floor window that faces South, which is where my Clearwire box is. If I lived somewhere that only had windows on the West or North side, then I'd probably hate Clearwire too. I'm not a "Fanboy" - I just have Internet service that performs just as advertised, and it happens to be from Clearwire. Good luck with whoever you're using now.

I get over 12 mbps with Comcast and that's through a wireless rougher. I could upgrade to get over 25mbps if i wanted to.
I am a Comcast tech and i go to trouble calls all the time where a customers internet speed is 100% based on the condition of there computer, customers complain about getting 1mbps dl speeds and all i do is hook up my own laptop top there modem and show them there getting on average over 10mbps for our lowest speed tier. then they still blame us. thats unfair!

Also, have you cleared out all your cookies and temp files as well as history? Do you have a firewall on? What anti-virus program are you running. try removing the 500mhz radio shack splitters and the walmart twist on cable ends you installed your self and have the cable run correctly then do your little demo I dare ya. nothing even comes close to comcast and with 3.0 coming out soon clear wire will be a foot note in internet providers like vonage
