Since Hammer wrote the MV Theme, it's irrelevant whether Rudess could have "played it better". And that's speculation, anyway.
The world is full of great keyboard sidemen, but there are precious few great keyboardists/composers.
You're missing the point entirely-
When he's in Hammers' league as both a keyboardist/composer

Sorry, you're totally right that Jordan couldn't have played it better. I actually meant the solo.. In my opinion Hammer's solo was a little weak. Not that I want a wankery shred-fest. But a little more action would've been nice.
And no offense, but Rudess is one of the 'precious few'.

I disagree, dude. The drummer, Tony Williams, was playing some of his classic drum licks that thousands of drummers copied from him. His solo was great in my opinion.
