Yeah, Not judging Pinochet for that is not my place but I don't think that this country has learned yet that you can't make a deal with, metaphorically speaking, the devil and expect good to come out of it. Backing scoundrels in Latin America to check the Russians was ignorant US latin American foreign policy and look at what's happening today; the Russians ARE in Latin America today, literally. Until he gets to the "Hey Mr. Pinochet.." line the lyrics actually seem to apply more to Argentina, where there were lots of desaparecidos during la epoca militar, and the mothers of missing people formed a group called las madres de la plaze de mayo to protest, holding pictures of their missing children and other relatives. As far as I know, the US didn't have any involvement in that (not that I'm defending the US involvement in Chile or anywhere else in Latin America!)
