I have not run into this since I became Muslim. Subhanallah I am in a very strong community where I go to school where there are many knowledgeable brothers and sisters. In fact 4 brothers and 2 sisters won the local battle of the MSA's in the greater DC area. They all got Umrah paid for by an anonymous donor Mashallah.
Anyway, when someone does something wrong we tell each other, but say it kindly. The best charity is knowledge. Always correct people when you are certain and ask if you aren't
