It was a rip-off, if you ask me. Day-Lewis acted better thank Hanks, but Hanks' role had a more clean, humanistic, political message. It happened in 2003, aswell: Lewis did a better job than Adrien Brody, but his character was too shallow.

Now don't get me wrong. Daniel Day-Lewis is my favorite actor. I loved him in My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, Gangs of New York (Though I hated the movie), and in the Name of the Father. But Tom Hanks was incredible in this movie, and when you watch him talk about it in inside the actors studio you would agree.
