So I finally found a Fender Jerry Donahue Hellecaster Stratocaster which I've been looking for several years now!
Got it yesterday - 2:nd of August, changed strings and polished the frets, because the strings were black (really old ones) and the the frets was really "rusty" but now it shines like a real beauty and sounds amazing!
This guitar is actually two guitars in one, a strat AND a tele, which is one of the main reasons why I've been looking for this guitar. It's very handy to not have to change guitars on stage. There are more info on the internet about this guitar if you're curious about it!
Anyway, this is nothing special, just fooling around over a blues-bt to show some of the different sounds this guitar has!

Btw, the guitar is recorded directly from the Pod XT Live into my computer, the JSX just stands there for the "show-off-factor" LOL!

Thanks! I think playing without a pick automatically turns your sound a bit Knopflerish.
But... yes, I like Mark alot! :D
You can't see it on the video, but the blue color is actually a see-through color which lets the wood shine through the laquer. Wonderful finish, and a really great and allround instrument.
I think your guitar will be great too!

Sorry mate.Big feet and even bigger mouth again.Been a Donohu fan since Fotheringay days.Check out his solo on a simple and beautiful choon called "The Sea" if you haven't already.Use an Epi SG and Digitech RP2000 and have managed to more or less find his tone...shame I can't do the same about his technique!Never used a pick either having played acoustic for years before getting an electric.Old habits and all that.You're a fine player btw...good stuff

Hmm... I'm not sure, but I think it was the AC30.
Don't remember the settings, but ususally I turn the mids all the way up, and the bass around half. Treble and presence to your taste and use a Screamer as a STOMP (i kick it in later in the video). I also have the COMP active...

Oh, yeah, I was able to hear that mid-hump from the screamer when you . Ill keep in mind thoses settings and try dialing on my amp.

Yeah, I'm totally in love with this guitar!
It can do it all, even metal if you'd want that..
And it's also very lightweight with it's basswood body and maple neck.
I can't actually find anything negative about this guitar...

hey, that was fantastic! I am a wannabe guitar player, I don't have one at the moment and I'm checking the youtube videos the hear the sounds of the different guitars. I hear a lot about Gibson Les Pauls and Fender Stratocasters, but nothing about other models and makes. I like a sound which I think is referred to as "clean", I like the blues sounds. I like some Les Paul sound but not the distorted fuzzy sound most seem to like on those guitars. This Stratocaster you played, I like that sound.

Stratocaster are the kings of clean tone. Their versatillity is amazing for anything from blues to jazz to hard rock, and in some cases metal. Les Pauls on the other hand provide a fatter heavier tone for heavy metal, hard rock, and blues. I personally prefer the stratocaster, because of the overall feel and the tone. It's also a lot lighter than les pauls which can make it easier for live playing.

i own a Strat and a telecaster and i can honestly say, if you want clean blues sounds, you cant beat a strat or a tele....
Then again, if you want blues, you could always get a Gretsch. Dad bought me one at christmas and it is a blues machine.
