They ARE smart but they have no memory. And I don't mean not a very good memory. They have NO memory. I've caught octopus in False Bay, South Africa, and they have fascinated me ever since. Incredible creatures and somehow, they seem so alien.

Only if you get to know it really well but don't really like it. Most octopuses only have one breeding cycle and then die, so it'd be a bit selfish (but not shellfish).

Not the eyes. It's almost like a jet that they have on the sides of their heads. Their eyes are a little bit more down and their eyes are smaller. Squids have large eyes, not octopi.
