Ricci announced his retirement. He and his family will spend summers at home in Haliburton, Ont., and move to San Jose during the winter.

The San Jose Sharks announced today that the veteran center will officially be an adviser to hockey operations. But in addition to having a role in player development, Ricci also will help out in community relations, promotions and marketing.

Very cool tribute! Mike is my sister's brother in law. I've known him since he was a child. Despite his fame and success, he's remained the same, devoted to his family, caring, easygoing, and grounded. All his dreams came true. We are very proud of him! Sharks forever!

Mike is not my brother in law. Mike's older brother is married to my older sister, which makes Mike my sister's brother in law. I am not married to any of Mike's older brothers. Mike's family is part of my family though. It's been that way for 25 years and always will be.
