Agreed. These days there's almost no gentration gap, and it's not by accident, it's social engineering at its worst. So who do the kids rebel against?........themselves.....divide and conquer!
tell me about it ...( 1 month ago by GrowTheCaine)
tell me about it theres the rich kids the middle kids and the poor kids.....the rich kids hate the poor kids for obvious reasons and middle ones cause they just dont have the same class....the middle kids are just trien to get through not entirely sure of who or whats going on......and the poor kids just hate everyone for belief that it is they who forced them into their position....this isnt all true obviously but its just my position from what ive seen

3:25 to 3:43 you can see a transfixed Mama Cass in awe of Janis's performance ,and,at the end of the tape, turning to her friend and mouthing what looks like "Oh wow!...that was really out of sight!"

Love Janis, but the band... yeah, not that good. They sounded like a mess in some parts of the song. But Janis' vocal is truly brilliant. So much power and enthusiasm. One of the best artists ever.

I understand where you're coming from. I wish I could help be the start of a new generation gap like these people were, cause I hate that we aren't much different from our parents. well I am... but most kids listen to stuff their parents wouldn't hate too much. That's scary. Parents shouldn't like most of what we listen to! Music is too fuckin safe now basically! And there is music that could take care of that but it ain't mainstream... I'm sure my parents would hate deerhoof or lightning bolt!
well music could ...( 1 month ago by GrowTheCaine)
well music could honestly be soo much better for example Black Label Society they got something good going on but all local and popular music is just the same goddamn repeated message like...god...Fallout Boy & 50 cent..it basically is im a rich ass hole and im going to tell u why and because of that territory ppl neglect to think of the marketing value of GOOD MUSIC so they just continue to refine the same stupid im a rich asshole routine we need to bring these rich dumbasses back down to earth

I highly disagree. Big Brother & the Holding Co. were raw, powerful & the perfect compliment to her southern style. Alot more gritty & real then those glitzy pretty boys that played behind her later. You ever heard the album "Cheap Thrills?" That might change your mind.

Big Brother and The Holding Company were amazing. I wish Janis had stayed with them. Cheap Thrills needed an equally outstanding follow-up :(

The session musicians were technically more correct but not nearly as exciting. James Gurley's guitar work gave BBHC their "psycedelic" sound and was very complementary to Janis in terms of power.

haha they were probably high as hell... but you can totally feel the music, you know? so it doesn't really matter to me if it wasn't all ways the right notes

LOL you got that right. Check out the bassist first 25-40 seconds in. But the passion and guts in Joplin's voice--you can tell even then she'd already lived the pain she was singing about
