Nope, the modem is stock. The only thing we use the Comcast connection for is my hosting. For everything else we use the T3 line. You can't hack your modem anyway, they stopped putting bottlenecks on them and now just limit the bandwidth in the line itself.

I work for comcast. At my house I am currently pulling down 46mb download and 6 mb on the upload. Next year we are converting our servers to Docsis 3, which will allow upload speeds to match download speeds. 100-150mb download and upload speeds. As it stands right now, our stock modems have a limiter in them that caps at about 25mb down, however if you have our phone service there is no limiter, which is why I have speeds of 46mb down, and 6mb up.

Haha, ripped off! In Australia my internet is like 800mbps (depeding on usage per month) for only 80 australian dollars. And in the town i live in threres no fibre optic cables yet but in Melbourne they can get like 15mbps for something like 190 australian dollars lol.

Uh... you don't get 800MBps. Doesn't happen unless your in Sweden, Japan, or the UK. Australia is notorious for slow internet speeds. Tell us your provider and package then I'll look into it. Until you prove yourself then I dub you a liar.

And also, Australia can get very fast internet just it cost A LOT. Kevin Rudd promised faster internet, which i believe if he had the capacity to think about what hes doing maybe he could give us that. and he also promised every high school student a laptop, AS IF! Dont know how he got elected...

you don't. the SBV5120 is a sold modem with no antenna. you need to buy a separate router.

wow thats fast. i have crappy SBC yahoo DSL capped at 2.2mbps/400kbs and i cant get faster because the poles around here dont support it. not to mention the dsl always breaking dow, fuck at&t.

Comcast and other cable providers in california are rolling out SpeedBoost technology, it works for images, the first part of large video downloads and other large downloads, online videos and a few other things. It's not actually upping your connection speed, it tricks speed tests the way it works. Your test is real, but the actual speeds are provoked by SpeedBoost.

That doesn't directly depend on your internet connection speed though. It depends on the number of seeders and leechers, and the internet speeds of those people.
