I thought this might be a documentary; as I started watching it's more like an hour-long
Chavez infomercial packed with testimonials.
He has his own production staff that make things like this; VPRO could've saved the trouble and asked for one of his own promotional videos. I don't hear any narrator through most of it and no formal interviews to even hint at being objective. Strange, because VPRO usually offers those things in the documentaries that I've seen.

La democracia no es para dar de comer sino para gobernar. Los que quieran vivir mamando del estado sin trabajar, no necesitan democracia sino comunismo. Los que quieran progresar y vivir mejor, que sean capitalistas. En la democracia, los ciudadanos deciden lo que quieren eligiendo a sus lideres. En el comunismo (disfrazado de socialismo), un grupito de ideólogos marxistas son practicamente dueños de todo y deciden cuantos sobrados racionados van a comer los ciudadanos.

It is easy to see the benefits of Hugo Chavez, it takes a slightly more sophisticated mind to see the negatives. Hugo Chavez has created a quasi-welfare state ONLY because of the oil. Venezuala could be a UAE, Dubai instead it is a pathetic 3d rate country because of the socialist Hugo Chavez. After the oil is gone the people will go right back to the starving poverty they began at. Venezuala could be so much more.
