This is great stuff. Its hard to imagine that natural selection + crap load of time = some weird stuff! I mean, I can't even begin to fathom how that would work, but then again, I'm not an expert in the field so :x.

This might make a great movie (except its resistant fungi that attack humans in this way).
Actually (for those of you anywhere from ok with to very disappointed by the premise of the summer movie "The Happening"), THIS might have been a better explanation for why people were killing themselves (or maybe they could have had spores grow out of the back of their necks xD).
Its even better because fungi is plant-like (but are actually more animal-like than plant-like.) lol
