Dharavi is the home and workplace of 40% of 600,000 people who live in this township in the middle of Mumbai metropolis. This film challenges the development strategy of the state to treat it just like residential area
the video really brings dharavi out to the mainstream - most people don't know all of this exists in the heart of mumbai...really important to find out about how they are being treated by the government. this is great!

What ever it is government has to provide not only residential homes but also safe workspace for these people who are not a burden on the society but actually contributing to the economy. Please read The Fortune at the bottom of the pyramid by CK Prahlad. This is just the way the poor need to be by even in a samll way contibuting to the society. Stop the land grab and truley provide proper and safe accomodation to these people. Provide schools to children so that they can live better.
