It is indeed poetic. The guy(sanz) is in love with her friend but she is in love with (sanz's) friend. She is always asking him (sanz) if his friend said anything about her, if he is in love with her but without knowing that (sanz) is in love with her and she doesn't realize that. Is very sad! that is why in the song he is saying: "I want to give you a poem and you think that i'm giving you news" news that he had said someting about her.
