Well he does a very bad job of it. He makes black people look like savages. I saw the start of this film a few days ago and had to change it just for the reason it pissed me off; it had black people dancing around like monkies, making strange monkey noises.
What point on earth does that bring?

I can't tell you how to feel about the openning of the film, but I believe that your interpretation of the openning is incorrect. He is not depicting black people as savages at all. He is showing History of a people. As far as the dancing, dancing is an African tradition. Also their are various dances that symobolize various things.
