you are starting compare scores which pretty much says nothing about how good/bad the team is. lower class teams will always put 9 men behind the ball in their own half for damage limitation purposes and the chance of maybe holding out for a draw, just as newcastle did on saturday against chelsea. 1-0, 2-0 or 5-0 it doesnt matter, a win is a win, a loss is a loss, simple as. if man utd or chelsea play a league 1/2 team in the FA cup 9/10 times they will not humiliate them. you know nothing.

Not at all..but your zone has a lot of spots for the World Cup, how many? 12,13? And for the Euro, 16. And you still sometimes manage to don't making it. And that's it. The rest are just average national teams that on paper you are supposed to beat, but you don't. Lately, Turkey's has accomplished way more than you. I know you don't like to consider them an european country, but still, they play the european circuit; so they deserve to be on your list.

And above England are counries like Croatia who we recently beat 4-1 away from home - we are much better than our FIFA ranking suggests. And the reason that it is hard to qualify for the Euros is because there are 52teams and only 16 places. Europe is at an incredible competative level when it comes to international football. Just look at the FIFA rankings - out of the top 20 teams, 16 are European. England have qualified 5 out of the last 6 times.
