It's really a shame that the new smashing pumpkins only has half it's original members. the new stuff is good it's just not as good as albums like gish, siamese dream, and melon collie.
As for good bands now adays, you just have to look past the mainstream. Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, the Arctic Monkeys, even though these guys are sort of mainstream they're all genius. Just stop crying over the crap that's around today and enjoy the good.

i like pumpkins videos from the Siamese Dream era. I'm not sure exactly what the technique is called but they mess with the color and get really psychedelic, it's cool. kinda like early Beck videos.

i have to agree, i happen to like radiohead also, but always liked sp and the vids did look pretty cool while high lol another thing about the 90's or it was here anyway everyone smoked/ drank a little but that was about as far as it went. this new generation and their damned pain killers, maybe they'll figure it out sometime
