ha ha, the new ideas will come from Barrack Obama... he hasn't thought of them yet, but stay tuned... ha ha. I thought the press would have his back for at least 6 months, guess they'll wait until the election.

Don, you're forgetting one of the Lords primary laws of this existence...You reap what you sow...they are not out on that limb for reasons other than their own irresponsibility. They can eat their X-box, their car, or their Wii (or whatever its called)...those of us who have sowed responsibly will not foot the bill...Now that would be corruption! Just count it as a lesson learned, move on, and don't do it again!

Food (canned anyway) I can stock. Several years ago I went my one big round with credit cards (then thankfully came to my senses, stopped that, got it paid off and never again! Now I have a 0 debts/balance) I can even live without heat (yes even in Michigan), I've already been living pretty close to the simple life everybody's gonna have to get used to 'cept What's gonna be tough is if we have no electricity (no computer!) or water (means to flush the toilet or get water from the tap)

The notion of no water/electric as a result of economic collapse is a real possibility to me since both the very whole entire state I live, Michigan, has already closed its government a few times in response to our state's financial crisis/debt, while the huge companies/corporations from the top down are failing and begging for money, I figure eventually I suppose this will hit my own little electric company/my city(& its water). Watch Michigan as "the big 3' go, 'cause we're first, you're next.

Tell people to insulate insulate insulate! (people forget about this -- and its important no matter where you live), and keep plenty of various seasons of clothing around that you can put on and take off in layers, use the coming of changing seasons to your advantage to get your body adjusted ahead of time (as a Michigander where we have wide extremes in temperature from summer to winter I am sort of a master at this)

and I also saw that very same thing (Obama's little speech, the reporters asking after him, and I saw him getting 'tiffy' a bit at the reporter for all his hard questions in a row, then that same "it'll have to come from ME") I'll just say this, if we're/he's still here long enough for it, I just have a feeling Obama's gonna get real old (I mean literally show rapid physical signs of aging on him) real quick and we're gonna see that "I'm talking like I'm your best friend' charisma thing stop.

I can suggest a book called" Living the Good Life" by Helen and Scott Nearing. They were a couple who took up living close the land and homesteading back in the Thirties. That is a good way to live if you want to get away from the consumer society. I think we are in for a long hard road. I hope it ends up being the death of globalism. That is what is wrecking us. It isn't any one politician or another. the whole system rots and is detrimental to the average person.

Consider putting in a shallow well with a hand pump. Hand pumps will suck up water from 27 feet deep. If you want info on how to do this just contact me. I can show you how to do it for around $450 bucks.
