I've been to Yosemite over fifty times now; my most favorite place on earth . . . I'm still in total awe of Yosemite's beauty . . . here are photos I've taken over the years of the incredibly beautiful Yosemite in various seasons, including times with Yosemite Falls at full strength, and times when the falls have NO water at all. It's amazing walking around the remote, hard to reach base of the Yosemite Upper Falls at the dry times, exploring the cave areas created by the pounding water, and seeing the granite there that has been intensely polished over thousands of years by the millions of tons of water that typically pound down on that area . . . also shown in the photos are the cables used by high country hikers to ascend to the top of the 8,837 foot high Half Dome mountain, and there's also a photo of me standing at the edge of the 4,871 foot sheer dropoff from Half Dome (INCREDIBLE adrenaline rush doin' that each trip to the top . . . and oh . . . not the MOST intelligent thing I typically do in my life however LOL)

I think 3 days would be fine for a first visit. I don't know if you do much hiking, but the trails up to the top of Yosemite Falls, and the trails up to Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls give FANTASTIC views (and 3 nights in Vegas is always great too! LOL)

Lifejourneyguy, yeah, we've been to Vegas five times already, though. We're mostly going to take my son for his second time. He's grown. I wish we had about three more days to do this.

I've been to Yosemite a few times. So majestic. I love the ocean but there is something special about the mountains. I'd l ike to go to the other national parks. Yosemite is special to me though. I lived in MOdesto and had a friend who lived aboove Don Pedro se he was really close. I'm in Texas now and would love to get back to CA and go to Yosemite and work in that beautiful environment but dont know how. no money.

I totally agree with you about how special Yosemite is. It's my favorite national park. I'm sorry the money thing is bein' a nuisance at the moment!

i live in fresno about an hour from yosemite.i drive up there at least 5-6 times a month, love it there. i climb the dome once and its gonna be my last lol. its breathe taking. (once in a lifetime climbing up there)
