Is it TRUE? Sport Compact Car (scc) magazine has just reported that the GTR has an electronically limited speed of 111 mph. In it's navigation system, Nissan has uploaded some approved racetracks where the speed limiter is taken off automatically and top speed then becomes 193mph, when the NAV detects that the car is at a Nissan approved race track location. Speed limiter is somehow connected to the NAV system. I just want 2 know, if anyone of you have heard about such a thing. Sounds ridiculous

I head it was only present on the Japanese models. It would be pretty damn hard to go all over the world to approve tracks and set up the systems to employ the speed limiting system.

Im thinkin about getting a GTR. But i love the 911 Turbo way too much because i was only 9 years old when my dad bought a brand new 911 Turbo in 1995. We still have that 13 year old car and the new 997 911 Carrera S. I guess I would have to test drive the GTR and then decide between GTR and 911 Turbo. Until then im very happy with my s2000.

if you are lookin at history, brand name and value.. the porsche is on top.. if you park a gtr and a porsche side by side any kid would guess that the porsche is faster unless he has seen videos like these.. but since there has been a hell lotta publicity in the production and launch of the gtr, i guess its a better car.. you get customizable info screen, japanese reliability, and since this is the new skyline.. unlimited tuning capabilities.. these are the stuff tht porsches dont come with..

a TechArt GTstreet (630hp, 200kg lighter then GTR) takes 7:39. the nissan time is fake or done on slicks.
the 911turbo is also >150kg lighter and should beat the GTR on track too.
and yes i would also like to see 2 absolutly stock cars racing against each others.
röhrl with 911 and maybe Sato (or any other ;>) with GTR on normal tires!
