Like cam1020 said. Personally a good version of the REAL original, the book, would be nice. But I like both of the versions. Of course the original is forever a classic but it's nice for some refreshment. I think Gus did a magnificent job capturing the original intent. And this video is proof of it.

Well though I don't actually postulate that. That would of course be his opinion, which I have no intention of regarding. Of course a creator can say he finds inadequateness in his work. In MY opinion I found it to be quite commendable. As I have already previously stated.

Brian DePalma has analyzed this scene; its all symbolic, really. The shower represents safety (people in general feels safe, when they're taking a hot shower), and then the murder - it (of course) ruins this 'safe-feeling'. 'Freud-ish' - yea. If this WAS how Hitchcock intended it, i think its brilliant, otherwise the shower scene is...bad (sorry fans), its simply not '2008-materiel'.

I would like to see the re-version in full, without cutting in the original.
Btw, I liked the wounds, and the bloodprint on the wall in this new version.
However, the older has something in it, that I can't tell, only feel it...

yea he was nervous how the audience would react. by the way, in the final scene of the original, there is a subliminal message. when 'norman' looks at the camera for the final time, put it in slo-mo and youll see the dead mothers corpse. apparently hitchcock fought for that to be included because back then, subliminal messages were illegal.

Very good movie, I love it! It was a good thing in the new version they used some blood on the bathroom's wall from the girls back, it was needful from the old one. And of course the injures from her body, the stabs.

Anne Heche becomes Golden Raspberry Award for her worst playing and Gus Van Sant for this stupid Psycho Movie (1998).
Psycho (1960) is one of the greatest movies ever made , with legend Actors.
