And you know what..in the novelization of "Return of the Jedi", that was EXACTLY what Anakin was doing, while seeing Luke before him with his own eyes: remembering his past, including his dear wife. And in the end, Luke also remembered what Ben had told him about his dad.
Somehow, I think Lucas will come out with yet another revised version of the films, and incorporate some of these great ideas from fans, like putting in flashbacks in the climatic moments.
