This is the controversial clip from Columbia Pictures that was pulled from American screens soon after its release for being "too bloody" and has been hard to find ever since (until recently it wasn't included on the DVDs).
It also explains the origin of the film's tagline "BEWARE".

Except in the book, Dracula first arrived in England at a town called Whitby, which is in the North-East of England. Apart from that, everything else was spot on.

LOL. Too bloody?? Have they not seen the gory stuff on DVD trailers coming out. More like "too art house". The execs obviously wanted to see more of the big name actors since they paid for them.

i love the movie but i hate the old dracula with the triple scoop vanilla icecream haircut.....lol
the young count was slick as hell thou....all the animal transformations were nice..

This movie is the best interpretation of the novel, though I'm not sure why the heck Coppola had to fill it sexual overtones to make it seem adult. Despite that minor setback, this movie is thoroughly enjoyable. I say Gary Oldman is the "Dracula", better than all those who came before him.

Damn, you must of seen some fine acting if you think this was poor. I thought some of the acting was exceptional, such as Dracula & Mina talking about the princess/river (dinner scene) and when Mina is about to drink his blood and he forbids her (scene on bed in nuthouse). In those scenes they are completely immersed in their roles.

I remember having such high expectations going into this movie. I didn't care too much for ANY of the characters. Hopkins goes WAY over the top as Van Helsing (Olivier was better in the 79 version). It's sentimental sometimes & then you get scenes of feeding on babies (I don't care if your girl died... that is just too far). You never get a real explanation of his origin (is he a demon or something?). I like the actors, but they all went in different directions. Too much hype.

I love Gary Oldman he's sooooo good in this. I wish they could've shown more love scenes with him and Mina. This movie seriously is really creepy though like the baby scenes and the beginning in draculas castle
