will have to post this reply in segments as there's a word limit -- SO glad you asked! HELLO, BIG MAN is the album -was released around 1983. The cover photo of Carly, and the TITLE TRACK (about her mother and father meeting @ Simon & Schuster), are Carly at her absolute best. Loved this song when i first heard the album - so poignant and simple, but in that "only Carly does it this way!" -

FWIW, thought HBM was the only album between "Spy" (pre-JT separation) and 1987's Coming Around Again that I thought was consistently decent -(they're ALL worth listening to!)-early 80's was the wacky post-break up w/ JT period, incl.her "engagement" to their mutual friend and JT's DRUMMER, Russ Kunkel (bongo player "My New Boyfriend" video!)whole period was just "out there"!

p.s. i think this song is ironic in that her hair color over the past 20 years and even now goes back and forth from her beautiful natural to a bleach blond color that is not only unflattering, but ages her (hard to do with those incredible looks) - wish she'd stick to the fascinating brunette that she was on NO SECRETS and PLAYING POSSUM - so so so gorgeous, all of us females should be so hot at any age! XO
