Ever watched South Park? If so, there is an Episode where the only Black kid gets stereotyped for being black, therefore he must have a Bass guitar. Anyways though, it is something I've wondered also. Dave Matthews Band is a perfect example as well with African-Americans having either a percussion or Bass part.

Rappers aren't bands, duh! Lots of Jazz Bands have both Whites and Blacks in the same group. God knows why you pointed Rap of all things. Rap and Soul are always pictured with African-Americans and Country and Rock N Roll are always pictured with Whites. And literally, this is a Canadian group... not as much of African ancestral population there like there is in the U.S. . So don't get freaked there's only one in that group.
